Deborah is licensed with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and certified through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish language and literature from the University of Minnesota, and received her Masters degree in Acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture in Boston, MA in 2000. After returning to the Twin Cities, Deborah was on the faculty at Northwestern Health Sciences University in the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine as a teacher and clinical supervisor from 2000 to 2013, while also maintaining a private practice.
Deborah has been an active proponent of Community Acupuncture for many years. Before establishing Minneapolis Community Acupuncture Clinic in 2015, Deborah co-owned and practiced at another community acupuncture clinic for five years. She has been a member of the People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture and has been part of the Minnesota network of community acupuncture clinics since 2009.
Deborah is trained in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture as well as Classical Japanese Acupuncture in which gentle needling techniques and fewer needles are used.
Over her seventeen years of clinical experience with patients with a wide variety of health concerns, Deborah has developed special interests in treating chronic and acute physical pain, digestive issues, respiratory conditions, women’s health, addiction, and psycho-emotional issues.
Deborah has a regular practice of yoga and meditation and enjoys hiking, traveling and being outdoors. She recognizes the power and beauty of all creative arts as a vital part of healing and living life fully.
